AGBU Seeking University Outreach Program Coordinator

AGBU is seeking a dynamic, civic-minded individual to serve as its part-time University Outreach Program Coordinator reporting directly to the Director of Community Program Development based from AGBU Central Office in NY, NY.

AGBU is seeking a dynamic, civic-minded individual to serve as its part-time (19 hours/week maximum) University Outreach Program Coordinator reporting directly to the Director of Community Program Development from AGBU Central Office in NY, NY.

Job Description

  • Administering, coordinating, and expanding AGBU’s University Outreach program;
  • Strengthening the relationship between AGBU and undergraduate/graduate students through the:
    • Establishment of contacts and identification of potential leaders in existing Armenian Student Associations (ASAs), or initiation of new groups if not existing;
    • Promotion of relevant AGBU programs; and
    • Establishment of AGBU partnerships with worldwide ASAs, Armenian Graduate Student Associations (AGSAs), AGBU University Committees, AGBU School Alumni Associations, and students-at-large;
  • Developing mentorships between students and the AGBU Young Professional Groups; and
  • Providing general assistance on an as-needed basis to the AGBU Young Professionals Program.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • One to two years relevant or similar experience essential.
  • Proven academic achievement, with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Demonstrated leadership in student and civic affairs.
  • Excellent project management, event management, and communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and creativity to create new programming, as well as the follow-through to implement
  • Flexibility and eagerness to learn, and work on diverse tasks as needed.
  • Quick learner with friendly, outgoing disposition.
  • Professional, responsible, team-oriented attitude.
  • Competence with MS Office applications and Windows operating system; database and web experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of the mission of AGBU (or willingness to learn).
  • Knowledge of Armenian a plus.
  • Must have U.S. residency.

Salary: Commensurate with experience.
