A Tribute Concert for Hrant Dink

A Tribute Concert for the late Hrant Dink, prominent journalist and editor of Turkish-Armenian descent who was killed in 2007.

World-renowned percussionist Arto Tuncboyaciyan and Turkish rock artist Yasar Kurt will share the stage of The Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College to pay tribute to Hrant Dink, the Turkish-Armenian journalist who was assassinated in 2007. The special benefit concert will feature music by Yash-ar- a musical collaboration started by Arto Tuncboyaciyan and Yasar Kurt as part of a mutual effort to promote peace and tolerance. The band’s first performance was the Peace for Rock Festival held in Istanbul in August, 2007. For the benefit concert, the musicians will present a selection from their album “Against Hatred and Animosity,” which includes a special song dedicated to the memory of Hrant Dink, along with Arto Tuncboyaciyan’s timeless songs. Proceeds of the concert will go to the International Hrant Dink Foundation.
