The American Turkish Society and Moon and Stars Project present a special benefit concert to pay tribute to Hrant Dink, the Turkish-Armenian journalist who was assassinated in 2007. The proceeds of the event will be sent to the International Hrant Dink Foundation. World renowned percussionist Arto Tuncboyaciyan and Turkish rock artist Yasar Kurt will share the stage of Kaye Playhouse to follow in the footsteps of the late Turkish Armenian journalist in fostering peace and dialogue between Turkish and Armenian communities worldwide.

Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College
695 Park Avenue
(East 68th Street between Park and Lexington Avenues)
New York, NY

Formed several years ago as part of a committed effort to unite against hatred and intolerance, Yash-ar derives its name from the Turkish word "living" and from parts of the artists' names. The band's first performance was for the Peace for Rock Festival, held in Istanbul on August 2009.

For the benefit concert, the musicians will present a selection from their album "Against Hatred and Animosity," which includes a special song dedicated to the memory of Hrant Dink, along with Arto Tuncboyaciyan's timeless songs. The proceeds of the concert will go to the International Hrant Dink Foundation, dedicated to fostering equal opportunity among youth and creating cultural diversity.

Ticket Prices: $125, $50, $40, $20 (Student & Senior). Ticket sales at www.americanturkishsociety.org.

A special VIP ticket package is offered that includes two complimentary orchestra tickets, a specially signed CD from the artists, invitation to an exclusive cocktail reception preceding the concert and a special meet and greet with the artists. Please contact us at info@americanturkishsociety.org if you would like to reserve this package.
